Towards Net Zero Renos – 2-day Bootcamp Growth Zone - Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association

Towards Net Zero Renos – 2-day Bootcamp

November 16, 2022 8:00 AM - November 17, 2022 5:00 PM (CST)

Description

The Towards Cost-Effective Net Zero Energy Ready Residential Renovations project is looking to build capacity throughout the home building construction industry to respond to demand for Net Zero and Net Zero Ready renovations. The scope of existing buildings is not only expansive but an increasing focal point for energy and emission reductions. This Net Zero Renos Bootcamp offers a highly intensive Net Zero training. It will build on the foundation of pre-requisite house-as-a-system and advanced building science training, and provides the full CHBA Net Zero Builder and CHBA Net Zero Renovator qualification curriculum in 2 packed days! In addition, the course includes an introduction and application module on use of the Integrated Design Process in a Part 9 renovation setting. Case studies and local builder panel discussions will engage on best practices that will help to prepare participants in the Towards Net Zero Renos project and to build your business in this growing field.

Who should attend?

This 2-day education session will be of interest to renovators, home builders, HVAC and mechanical contractorsbuilding officials and energy advisors, or those interested in deep energy retrofits. It is open to all interested in finding our more about Net Zero building and renovating and will provide credit for those interested in obtaining their nationally recognized Qualified Net Zero recognition.

How much does it cost?

This session is being offered free of charge, thanks to our funding partners (and is valued at over $1800).

*Prerequisite*

Attendance at this bootcamp requires that the participant completes (or has completed in the past) a course on Advanced Building Science or equivalent prior to attending. This is important in ensuring that everyone is starting on the same page. The Advance Building Science course will be offered virtually if needed and will also be free to participants under this project. If you have questions or need additional information about how you can fulfill the pre-requisite requirements, please contact Nicole or Karen at 306-955-5188 and we will be more than happy to discuss.
